TRADE DEFICIT BY JOE RICHÉ
In the center of the park is Trade Deficit a trio of sculptures situated along Broadway at Lawrence, Larimer and Blake, the most significant of which is located at Blake. The sculptures are intended to create a literal and conceptual gateway for the industrial/residential neighborhood of River North, activating a main route into downtown Denver from the airport and beyond. As an artist who lives and works in the RiNo (River North) neighborhood of Denver, Riché re-purposed unused shipping containers to create this series of sculptures that capture the vibrant transportation history of that neighborhood.
